If you are under 25 years of age but at least 21 years old, you can rent most of Marathon’s car but there are a few restrictions such as Luxury, Sport Cars and 15 Passenger Vans.There is a $10 per day surcharge if you are 21-24 years old. (Fees vary on the type of car and are subject to change)
There is a $25 per day surcharge if you are 18-20 years old.(Fees vary on the type of car and are subject to change)
If you are under the age of 21 but at least 18 years old, you can rent Economy, Compact, and Intermediate size vehicles. Select 18-20 as your age group.
Here is what you will need to rent a car from Marathon if you are 18-20 years old:
1. A valid driver's license
2. A major credit card in your name (see or debit card requirements when making a reservation)
3. You must have your own full coverage insurance that will transfer to the rental car. There are two types of insurance that you need:
a. Liability—which covers third parties if you are at fault in an accident
b. Collision—which covers the rental car.
Most major insurance companies transfer to a rental car. We will need your policy number and contact telephone number to verify your insurance prior to your pick up date.
4. If you are under 21 Marathon cannot sell you any insurance coverage.
5. If you are from outside the United States here is what you need to do:
Travel insurance can be purchased that will provide liability insurance (please bring a copy of your policy that specifically says you are covered for rental cars).

You may purchase a non owned vehicle policy from an insurance agency in the United States; minimum limits are all we require.

Collision insurance is required as well. Most travel insurances do not cover you for collision damage in rental cars, and you cannot purchase collision insurance from an insurance agency if you do not own the car. The only solution we have found for this is that some credit cards provide collision insurance if you use that card to rent the car. Please check your credit card benefits to verify your coverage.
